What We Do
Ang Kasangga is represented in the 15th Congress of the Philippines by the Hon. Teodorico T. Haresco, Jr. No better man can fulfill the role of speaking for the micro entrepreneur, for Congressman Haresco is himself a successful entrepreneur, and therefore a valuable ally to the cause.

Ang Kasangga stands for the support of the micro entrepreneurs throughout the Philippines. Among the Party-List’s primary goals is the creation of bills that helps the micro entrepreneurs with:

  1. Access to capital, which is easily one of the biggest barriers to start up businesses; and
  2. Opportunities that increase the initiative and skills for individuals to become micro entrepreneurs; and
  3. Increasing and enhancing productivity of existing micro entrepreneurial businesses.

Ang Kasangga and Congressman Haresco is a stuanch supporter of HB 9501, The Magna Carta for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which calls for banks and lending institutions to allocate 10% of their total portfolio to MSMEs.

More bills are on the way and the ultimate goal is to spur the growth and sustainability of micro entrepreneurial businesses in the country.

Ang Kasangga also stands for the welfare of its members. Outside of the halls of Congress, Ang Kasangga will be found inviting its members to medical and dental missions, talks and training seminars, and social gatherings to its members. Ang Kasangga also provides scholarships for the children of slain journalists and support for orphanages.
