| Speaking the Micro Entrepreneur’s Voice |
Ang Kasangga represents the voice of the Micro Entrepreneur, a valuable – and significant sector of Philippine society; a sector that comprises 92% of all Philippine Businesses and accounts for the employment of over 75% of the working population.
It is a strident voice that must be heard. More than that it is a voice that must be listened to. For in each micro entrepreneur lies the seed for the country’s development and a stable economy, putting on the ground businesses that attract the development of hard infrastructure, such as buildings, farm-to-market roads, bridges and highways. More importantly, these businesses increase human capital – providing jobs, but also skills and training, opportunities for other livelihoods, and perhaps the most important of all, the self esteem that comes from earning a living.
